ABOUT me

Ebony Lemons (also known as Coach E) is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and an alumna of the University of Tennessee -Knoxville, where she obtained a degree in Civil Engineering. She officially established her company, Step & Skate Movement in 2022, but her journey in the step, skate, and dance world is not new!

Coach E began stepping in 2012 upon her initiation into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She has earned multiple accolades in Black Greek step competitions with several Zeta step teams over the years, serving as step mistress and creative director for majority of them. In 2017, Ebony began coaching and choreographing for youth and adult step teams. In 2020, she was selected as a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Centennial Steppers, who made their national television debut on ABC at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

 

As a roller skater, Coach E was introduced to the art in 2017 and immersed herself in it by working diligently as a branding coordinator for the Southern Roll Memphis skate entertainment and promotion team. Throughout the years, she traveled around the country with the team and was exposed to various skate styles. In 2020, the popularity of roller skating skyrocketed and a dire need for skate instruction grew in the city of Memphis. In 2021, Coach E filled this void with weekly skate lessons, which led to the to birth of Step & Skate.
